Managed IT Services Torrance
Managed IT and 24/7 security operations for Torrance manufacturers, aerospace and defense suppliers, subsidiaries of multinational parent companies, and healthcare organizations.
Torrance builds things, and the companies that build them carry obligations most IT providers have never handled: a defense prime’s flow-down requiring NIST SP 800-171 controls, a parent company’s IT governance standards, an FDA-regulated quality system, a hospital’s HIPAA requirements. We run IT for these organizations with a security operations center behind every endpoint and documentation that holds up when the customer’s auditor walks in.

Torrance is the South Bay's manufacturing and headquarters hub
Torrance holds Honda’s U.S. headquarters and one of the region’s largest concentrations of subsidiaries of multinational manufacturers, along with Robinson Helicopter, Pelican Products, and Virco, the Torrance Refinery, Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Providence Little Company of Mary, and the Del Amo commercial district. Along the Harbor Gateway, Western Avenue, and Lomita Boulevard industrial corridors sit hundreds of precision machine shops, electronics assemblers, aerospace suppliers, and distributors of every size, many feeding Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Boeing, and SpaceX programs a few miles away.
Defense suppliers are now inside the CMMC timeline. The Department of Defense’s CMMC program rule took effect in December 2024, the acquisition rule began phasing requirements into new contracts in November 2025, and the second phase beginning in November 2026 brings third-party Level 2 certification requirements into applicable solicitations. A machine shop that handles controlled unclassified information needs the 110 requirements of NIST SP 800-171 implemented and evidenced, with a system security plan and a current score in SPRS. We implement the technical controls and build the evidence. We are not an assessor and do not present ourselves as one.
Subsidiaries of multinational groups carry a different requirement: headquarters IT governance. Parent companies expect SOX-style IT general controls, standardized security tooling, regular reporting on patching and incidents, and policies consistent with the group’s. Local IT providers often cannot produce the reporting headquarters wants, in the format headquarters wants it. We can, because our monitoring and management platform produces it monthly as a byproduct of normal operations.
Who provides managed IT services in Torrance?
CyberDuo provides managed IT services in Torrance from its Los Angeles headquarters in Glendale. The firm implements NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC-aligned technical controls for defense suppliers, supports subsidiaries of multinational parent companies with headquarters-ready IT governance reporting, and serves manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare organizations, including companies with an internal IT manager. CyberDuo operates a 24/7 helpdesk and in-house security operations center, holds a SOC 2 Type II attestation, and offers fully managed and co-managed IT.
What prompts Torrance manufacturers to call
The trigger in Torrance is usually a letter: from a prime, from a parent company, or from an insurer.
A prime's flow-down letter or a DFARS clause in a new purchase order
A customer requires NIST SP 800-171 compliance and a CMMC assessment timeline as a condition of continued business. The self-assessed SPRS score was optimistic. We implement the controls, build the evidence, and coordinate with your compliance consultant and eventual assessor so the score becomes defensible.
Headquarters asked for a security report the local provider could not produce
A parent company requests patch compliance, incident history, and control status across the subsidiary. The local IT shop has no reporting capability. Our platform produces the report monthly, and we present it in the structure headquarters expects.
Production stopped because an office laptop infected the shop floor
A flat network let a phishing click on an office PC reach machine controllers and the ERP server. We segment production from office systems, protect the endpoints that remain, and monitor both sides so one bad click stays on one side of the line.

Industries that account for most of our Torrance clients
Manufacturing leads, but Torrance’s medical groups, engineering firms, and lenders carry their own regulated data. Companies that do not fit a category below are not turned away; the same engineers and the same security operations center support them.
Machine shops, electronics assemblers, aerospace and defense suppliers, and distributors across the Harbor Gateway, Western Avenue, and Lomita Boulevard corridors, with CUI and shop-floor requirements built in.
Medical groups and specialty practices around Torrance Memorial and Providence Little Company of Mary, with HIPAA safeguards and a signed BAA.
Engineering consultancies, CPAs, and advisory firms serving the South Bay’s industrial base, often under customer security requirements of their own.
Credit unions, lenders, and insurance agencies serving Torrance’s workforce, with GLBA Safeguards Rule and Regulation S-P alignment where it applies.
Hardware and software companies in the South Bay with intellectual property to protect and enterprise customers who audit vendors.

Torrance managed IT services: frequently asked questions
How much do managed IT services cost in Torrance?
The Los Angeles County market for comprehensive managed IT sits at $125 to $250 per user per month in 2026. Torrance manufacturers handling controlled unclassified information land in the upper part of that range because CUI enclaves, GCC High licensing, and evidence work add scope; shop-floor devices are often priced per device rather than per user. Security is built into the rate rather than sold piecemeal; co-managed engagements are scoped separately. See our Los Angeles pricing guide.
Can CyberDuo make us CMMC Level 2 certified?
Certification is not something a provider can grant; it comes from an assessment conducted by a CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization. What we do is implement the 110 NIST SP 800-171 requirements as technical controls, build and maintain the evidence, support your system security plan and plan of action, and coordinate with your compliance consultant and assessor. Our role is to make sure the controls are real when the assessment happens.
Does our shop need Microsoft 365 GCC High?
It depends on your data. ITAR technical data and certain categories of CUI require it; many suppliers do not need it for every user. We evaluate what you handle and where, then design an enclave so only the users who touch controlled data carry GCC High licensing while the rest of the company stays on commercial Microsoft 365.
Our parent company requires regular IT security reporting. Can you provide it?
Yes. Our platform produces monthly reporting on patch compliance, endpoint protection status, incidents, backup results, and control status, and we structure it to the SOX-style IT general controls and group security policies headquarters references. We also join calls with the parent company’s IT team when needed.
Can you segment our shop floor from the office network?
Yes. We separate machine controllers, production systems, and ERP servers from office traffic, define the controlled paths between them, protect the endpoints that remain on both sides, and monitor the whole environment so an infected office laptop cannot reach the floor.
How quickly can you be onsite in Torrance?
Same day. The drive from our headquarters takes 40 to 55 minutes, and most manufacturers schedule a recurring onsite day for hardware, floor, and project work. Everyday tickets are handled remotely in minutes.
We have an IT manager who runs the plant systems. Can you work alongside them?
Yes. Plant IT managers usually know the ERP, the machine controllers, and the vendors better than anyone, and they rarely have time for a 24/7 helpdesk, a security operations center, or NIST SP 800-171 evidence work. Co-managed IT adds those pieces while your manager keeps control of the floor, with responsibilities written into the agreement.
Can we hire you only for the NIST SP 800-171 remediation project?
No. Remediation is delivered within a managed or co-managed engagement because the controls have to keep operating after remediation, which is what an assessor verifies. Routine projects are included in the service; larger efforts are written up as statements of work inside the engagement.
