Migrating On-Premises Infrastructure to Microsoft Azure Cloud
The Challenge
A good IT system is an essential element in delivering first-class medical care in today’s world. But Ocean Medical’s investment in physical servers on the premises was proving to be a constraint on the business. The servers were ageing, and struggling to cope with the demands of running a busy practice. Server crashes became a daily occurrence, and that caused a number of problems – including delays in checking patients in or out. Staff were unable to work efficiently, and this had a negative effect on patient management and the day-to-day running of the business. It was clear that it was time for Ocean Medical to upgrade to a new infrastructure, including better servers and computers. And due to the sensitive and private nature of the data, the new system had to deliver a high level of security, as well as complying with the demanding regulations imposed on practice by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).The Solution
Ocean Medical chose CyberDuo as the ideal Managed Services Provider to deliver a solution suited to managing urgent care in the 2020s. As well as being a very experienced IT consultancy, CyberDuo has considerable expertise in delivering high levels of security that satisfy HIPAA requirements. After analyzing the options, CyberDuo recommended moving from an on-premises setup to a cloud-based solution. The network equipment was upgraded, and all data was migrated to Microsoft Azure, the world-leading cloud system from Microsoft.
